  1. It’s nice to see a top ten the recognizes that the lightweight scene in Japan is far more competitive than the US. Every other website is almost all US fighters, with a token Gomi and maybe Aoki, and of course Melendez because even though he fights in Japan, he’s not Japanese. Usually no mention of Sakurai, Kawajiri or, God forbid, Yamamoto, cause it would suck if a 145 pounder beat thee majority of our top ten list. And always at the top is Sherk, who never beat a truly good opponent in their prime, save perhaps Diaz, or a any good opponent by anything but Lay on top Decision. Depressing, and the kind of fighter that doesn’t sell any tickets. Thanks for keeping it real with this list.
